Maersk Line To Drop Some Destinations for 20-Foot Reefers from Australia and Oceania [Updated]
Created by HButler on 9/7/2010 2:35:32 PM
Maersk Line announced that it will stop accepting 20’ reefer containers for transport from Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands to the following countries: Bulgaria, Côte d'Ivoire, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Croatia, Equatorial Guinea, Georgia, Ghana, Greece (Thessaloniki and Heraklion), Kenya, Latvia, Malta, Morocco, Tunisia, and Yemen. The new policy takes effect on Oct. 1, 2010.
The carrier cited a need to improve the availability of its 20' reefer fleet. It noted that
40' reefers and
40' high-cube reefers will still be able to be shipped from Oceania to the restricted destinations.
