ShipCarsNow, a part of Insight Logistics Network (a Union Pacific Corp. subsidiary), has launched a new international auto transport service. The company is partnering with vessel operators to expand its nationwide auto transport service to international auto ports around the world.
"We are excited to bring this new online service to auto traders who export cars from the U.S.," said Jeff Grandstaff, ShipCarsNow general manager. "We are focused on making it easy, safe, and economical for auto traders to buy and ship cars online, domestically and globally."
The company's website, ShipCarsNow.com, now permits auto traders to arrange transportation from anywhere in the United States to port destinations around the world via Ro-Ro (Roll On, Roll Off) vessels. As part of its new international service, ShipCarsNow offers customers cargo insurance through marine insurance broker AON Risk Solutions.
"Maritime law limits steamship companies to a maximum liability of $500 per vehicle," Grandstaff said. "While we believe RoRo transport is the safest way to move a car overseas, we want to provide auto shippers total confidence and peace of mind by offering the option of cargo insurance."
Customers can insure their vehicles for up to 150% of their Kelley Blue Book value to cover their costs as well as freight and other transaction costs. In addition, according to the company's announcement, those who purchase cargo insurance from ShipCarsNow receive coverage from the U.S. inland origin point to the international port of call.
