Naming Ceremony Held for New Höegh Vessel

The new Höegh Singapore was named in a traditional ceremony at Xiamen Shipbuilding Industry Co. Ltd. in Xiamen, China, on October 12, 2011.
Nancy Jean DeMuro (wife of Richard DeMuro, Director MP & L Ford Asia, Pacific & Africa) acted as lady sponsor, the carrier said. Also in attendance were the Norwegian Ambassador to China and representatives of both Höegh Autoliners and the shipyard, as well as some of Höegh's customers in China.
The 4,300-CEU vessel has a DWT of 12,305 metric tons. Its maximum ramp capacity is 120 metric tons, and the maximum door width and height are 7.6 meters and 5.3 meters, respectively. The ship has a top speed of 20 kts.
