Clipper on Jan. 23 announced that it has taken delivery of the Clipper Gemini, a multi-purpose vessel the company had ordered from Yangfan Shipyard, China.
Clipper Gemini joins two other ships in the series, Clipper Grand and Clipper Galaxy. The 119.8-meter-long ship is equipped with two 200-metric-ton cranes. Vessels in the series are able to handle containerized cargo both in the hold and on deck. Clipper has made further details of the vessels available in a document on its site.
On its maiden voyage, the 9,500 dwt newbuilding will transport project cargo from Japan to the United States, the company said, under the command of Captain Alexander Makarov and Chief Engineer Sergey Zolotarenko.
