Carlson Named Freeport Port Director

Glenn Carlson, former senior vice president of liner services at the North Carolina Ports Authority and a 37-year veteran of port operations and transportation, has been named executive director and CEO at Port Freeport, Texas.

Carlson fills the post that A.J. “Pete “ Reixach Jr. held from 1988 until he took early retirement in May. Phyllis Saathoff, the port’s managing director, had served as interim port director after Reixach’s retirement.

Port Commissioner John Hoss said Freeport has made reconstruction of the Velasco Terminal a priority, and that the project is scheduled to be completed by next June.
