Savannah Maritime Community Promotes Logistics Careers

Created by HButler on 10/23/2012 4:55:17 PM

Freightliner Trucks Sales Executive David “Fish” Mihuta recently spoke to the Propeller Club of Savannah about the continuation of the Maritime Logistics Education Taskforce, a collaboration of resources designed to attract area high school students to careers in the logistics and maritime industry, Savannah Morning News reported.

The program was developed by Mihuta and Robert Dowd of Savannah’s Port City Logistics and began as a “Follow the Container” tour on how merchandise moves from manufacturer to store shelf, from Georgia Ports’ Garden City Terminal to a designated warehouse.

The group now hopes to sponsor 28 students from local schools for 10-week internships.
