California Terminal Orders 50 Green Spreaders From Bromma

Created by HButler on 10/23/2012 5:07:57 PM

Crane spreader company Bromma recently contracted an order for 18 STS45E ship-to-shore crane spreaders and 32 YSX45E yard spreaders from Long Beach Container Terminal, a subsidiary of Orient Overseas Container Line.

The request for over 50 green spreader units is the Stockholm-based company’s largest combined STS and yard crane spreader order to date. Heretofore Bromma’s largest STS Greenline order had been for six STS45E units.

The all-electric spreaders only consume energy when operating, requiring one-tenth of the energy of a hydraulic spreader, which must operate its power pack continuously. The green spreaders also weigh less, which saves 15 percent in power consumption, the company said.
