South Africa's Port Elizabeth Adds Cranes to Expedite CargoCreated by HButler on 1/9/2013 3:31:56 PM
Port Elizabeth in South Africa has received a delivery of two ship-to-shore cranes manufactured by IMPSA, which will be used to move 20-foot and 40-foot container units.
The equipment was manufactured and assembled in Durban, South Africa, seven years ago and commissioned into service in 2005.
The relocation of the cranes from Durban to Port Elizabeth is part of the port’s program to boost handling operations over the next few years, said Siya Mhlaluka, Transnet Port Terminals’ Eastern Cape general manager.
