Seaboard Marine has announced a new biweekly Ro-Ro service linking the port of Miami to Chile, Ecuadora, and Peru.

The carrier said the new service, which will supplement its other offerings in the trade, will accept machinery, trucks, tractors, buses, cars, shipper-owned trailers, and other types of wheeled cargo.

Bob Schicchi, VP-South America Services, said, “We will be able to provide an incredibly fast transit for various cargoes from Miami. The southbound sailing will directly reach Callao, Peru in only nine days. Further, the northbound transit time from Guayaquil, Ecuador to Miami will be only eight days.  The Seaboard Star and the Seaboard Florida, both with on-board cranes, have the ability to carry diverse types of cargoes. Further, our customers will appreciate the wide and strong ramps of both vessels that will allow their rolling stock and specialized cargoes to be safely and efficiently handled.”

The first sailing will be the M/V Seaboard Florida, which will depart from the Port of Miami on Saturday, August 14; the M/V Seaboard Star will follow on August 28.
